As we are undergoing several updates and process adjustments, you can find information about upcoming interpreted plays, concerts, other Arts and Arts-adjacent interpreted events on our Instagram and Facebook pages. The goal is to return to more regular posting here, including the quick overview of upcoming events and links, for the 2026-27 season.
For now, the most up-to-date information can be found on PAIA PDX on Instagram, and Performing Arts Interpreting Alliance on Facebook.
If you have ASL interpreted events you would like added to the list, you can email with the subject line SLI Performance at least two weeks in advance (the subject line should be automatically generated with this link, which will open a new window).
If you are in need of ASL interpreters for a performance, Arts event, or Arts adjacent event, you can email with the subject line Interpreter Inquiry (the subject line should be automatically generated with this link, which will open a new window). Please note that performances (plays, concerts, and similar) generally need at least 3-4 weeks notice to allow adequate preparation time for the interpreters, as well as time to locate a team. Contacting us a couple or several months ahead of time is not too early!
Most of the large theater seasons are hear the end (or have already ended), but theater does not stop just because it is summer! Look around for various theater in the park productions and other wonderful opportunities around town. Here are a few highlights:
- Kickstand Comedy's Comedy in the Park started up again a couple of months ago, with the first Friday of the month having ASL interpreters (at Laurelhurst Park)
- Oregon Adventure Theatre has a production with two ASL interpreted performances, The Simpler Truth, happening on June 27th & 28th (at Laurelhurst Park)
- A fantastic new production from Melani Erfani about dyslexia, The Words Will Come, will have ASL interpreters on June 25 & 26 (at Shaking the Tree)
